We are pleased to have Nadia Ghasedi as our speaker for the 2021 SLRLN Spring Speaker Series. As Associate University Librarian for Special Collections Services, Nadia Ghasedi leads the team responsible for the collection, preservation, and accessibility of rare, archival, and/or primary source materials that enrich teaching, learning, and research for the Washington University community and beyond. She is particularly interested in building and promoting the visibility of collections that represent historically marginalized voices. As a moving image archivist and preservationist, she oversaw grant-funded projects to preserve, digitize, and disseminate part 1 of the award-winning documentary series Eyes on the Prize and all associated, never-before-seen, complete interviews. She is currently leading an initiative in her division to identify and address systemic structures of white supremacy in special collections and archives.
The Spring Speaker Series is free for SLRLN members and $10 for non-members.
