Program: Following the business meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from several library professionals in a series of short, informal presentations. These “What I Do” mini-sessions will highlight a variety of roles across library services. Special thanks to our presenters:
Rebecca Splain is the Library Services Coordinator at St. Charles City-County Library. Besides heading up passport and notary services at her library district, she also coordinates districtwide diaper distribution services and adult book discussion groups. Most recently, she has been busy helping area residents apply for federal RECA compensation. She enjoys cross-stitching, playing World of Warcraft, and researching her own and her friends' family trees. DeNyne Carter is a proud native of Detroit, Michigan. She received her master's in social work from The Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis with a focus on violence and injury prevention. Through her personal and professional experience, DeNyne gained a deep passion for supporting individuals impacted by trauma and violence and enjoys working to make a positive impact in the St. Louis community. She is part of the St. Louis County Library Social Work Team. Katie Lappe was born and raised in Florissant, Missouri and currently resides on the south side of St. Louis City. She is the Program Manager for the St. Louis County Library Social Work Team, and loves working in the library. Prior to this role, Katie worked over 10 years providing direct support to individuals who were unhoused or facing housing instability.
